Jilabi Indian Restaurant

Welcome to Jilabi Indian Restaurant, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Birmingham at 2065 Coventry Rd, B26 3DY. With a commitment to authentic Indian flavors and a warm, inviting atmosphere, Jilabi stands out as a go-to destination for those seeking a true taste of India.

As I stepped inside, the ambiance immediately struck me. The restaurant emanates a lively yet cozy vibe, creating an inviting space perfect for both family gatherings and special occasions. The staff greeted me with smiles, a testament to their dedication to providing excellent hospitality. It's clear that Jilabi isn't just about serving food; it's about creating an experience.

Now, let’s dive into the menu. The star attraction has to be the Jilabi Desi Specials. The Goody Box for Four, priced at just £21.00, was a delightful surprise. A platter of lamb chops, tandoori chicken, chicken kebab, and onion and spinach pakora, served with refreshing chutneys and crisp salad, offered a perfect start to my meal. Its generous portion made it ideal for sharing or indulging in solo!

Another standout was their Chicken Tikka and Garlic Mushroom Stir Fry (£4.25). This dish tantalized my taste buds with its balance of spices and a hint of chili. The tender chicken and fresh garlic melded beautifully, reflecting the chef’s expertise in marrying flavors.

The seafood selection is equally impressive. I couldn’t resist trying the King Prawn Pathia Puree (£5.50), featuring kingsized prawns cooked to perfection with light spices and served on crispy yoghurt bread. It was a dish that exemplified sophistication and warmth in every bite.

For vegetarian and vegan options, Jilabi doesn’t fall short. The Spiced Potatoes and Garlic Mushrooms, lightly tossed with the chef’s favorite spices (£4.75), were a delightful accompaniment to my meal. The Tandoori Cauliflower (£4.50) was another highlight, offering seasoned flavors that showcased the restaurant’s creativity with vegetarian dishes.

As I explored more, I found that the Balti Dishes section is a must-try. The Chicken Saag Aloo Mushroom Balti (£10.50) boasted a delightful blend of herbs and spices, while the Mixed Jalfrezi Balti proved to be a vibrant dish that spoke to the rich culinary traditions of India.

Throughout the experience, each dish told a story of tradition and flavor, complemented by the engaging atmosphere of Jilabi. Customers rave about the humorous and friendly staff, turning each visit into a memorable evening filled with laughter and delightful conversations. Faz Yasin aptly describes it as “Birmingham's Hidden Gem,” and I couldn't agree more.

Whether you are a local or just visiting Birmingham, Jilabi Indian Restaurant is worth a visit for its flavor-packed offerings and a heartfelt approach to service. With dishes that celebrate the essence of Indian cuisine and a team that goes above and beyond, Jilabi truly sets the bar high.

I’ve recently dined at Jilabi restaurant,It was a lovely welcoming staff greeted with warm smiles and hospitality and very good ambiance. We were asked about the buffet system, they provided us with a lot of variety’s have ever seen. The entire team worked seamlessly together, creating an atmosphere of efficiency and professionalism. The bus staff swiftly cleared tables and refilled water glasses without disruption, and the host checked in to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout the evening. It’s clear that the staff are well-trained and deeply committed to providing top-notch services. They have celebrated my friend birthday with all fruit juice with a small cake and a candle . The staff made our day with beautiful service from all the staff.I highly recommend this Restaurant not only for its delicious cuisine but also for its remarkable service. Overall a great experience, friendly and helpful staff with good tasting food.We enjoyed a meal at the restaurant mid week. No reservation was neededThe staff were very professional and the turnaround time for the food to arrive was good. The dishes tasted really nice, the butter chicken was below average it was more so a sweet sauce with chicken tikka added however I wouldn’t say bad tasting. They gave us a whole load of complimentary desserts, chocolate cake, ice cream, gulab jamun and jilabi finishing off with a delicious Indian chaa!If you’re local it’s definitely a place to visit.Enjoy.
